Introduction

Lieutenant Zarar Ahmad was born on 15 July, 1973 at a small town named Tando Adam in province Sindh, Pakistan. He had his early education in Lahore, Sargodha and Rahim Yar Khan and joined Pakistan Navy in 1989. He graduated from Prestigious Pakistan Naval Academy with flying colors in 1993. He served at different Naval warships and later joined Naval Air Aviation. He earned his flying batch from College of Flying Training, Pakistan Air Force Academy, Risalpur and joined 29 Squadron of Pakistan Navy. On 10 August 1999, Zarar along with his 15 other companions embraced Martyrdom when their unarmed Atlantic Aircraft was shot down by India, well within Pakistani territory at Badin.

To remember the sacrifices made by Zarar and his colleagues, Zarar’s parents have established a trust. The Land has been bought by them at the outskirt of Lahore to establish a Trust Hospital. This Hospital is aimed to provide health services to twelve adjacent villages like Bau Walla, Valikpur, Mahfooz Pura, Dagranwan etc. A midwifery school imparting one year certificate course to ladies of the area is also planned.
